Victor Wembanyama scored a season-high 43 points as San Antonio defeated Minnesota 121-111 on Saturday, extending the Spursâ winning streak to four games.
Wembanyamaâs performance came against a Timberwolves team missing several key players. Anthony Edwards was sidelined after knee surgery, Donte DiVincenzo remained out following Achilles surgery, and Rudy Gobert missed the game because of low-back spasms.
The loss was Minnesotaâs third in four games, while San Antonio continued its strong start behind Wembanyamaâs highest-scoring game of the season.
Portland also moves to 4-1
The Portland Trail Blazers improved to 4-1 by beating Utah 112-90. Deni Avdija scored 24 points and Damian Lillard added 22, with the pair combining for 46 points in the victory.
Portlandâs win was its first since Ja Morant suffered a strained left hamstring that is expected to keep him out for much of November.
