While working as a Data and AI Engineer for US companies, Renato became increasingly concerned by the rapid growth of the betting market in Brazil. He saw people losing money to platforms using sophisticated data systems to maximize profits. One question kept coming back: what if bettors also had access to data intelligence?
The experiment begins - R$400 on the table
With a Streamlit prototype and Machine Learning models running behind the scenes, Renato started a personal experiment. Basketball was the chosen sport because of its data richness: games with 200+ points, multiple quarters, and dozens of variables. He started with R$400 of his own money, with no investors, testing everything in practice.
R$400 -> R$3,400 - 750% return
The results were surprising. In just 15 days, the initial bankroll turned into R$3,400 - a 750% return. But the key point is how it happened: Renato kept every wager fixed at R$100 because he wanted to validate whether the strategy would actually work over the long run. He did not increase stakes to recover previous losses, did not chase losses, and it still worked. Accuracy ranged from 70% to 80%, which mathematically creates consistent profitability in betting markets.
Google Ads + 3,000 visits in 1 day
Confident in the outcome, Renato promoted the app with Google Ads. The response was overwhelming: more than 3,000 visits in just one day. The pilot project's infrastructure could not handle the demand and the app became unstable. It was the clearest possible signal that there was a real product, real demand, and a real market.
FinalSkore: the scalable platform
FinalSkore was born, built with the infrastructure and scalability the pilot lacked. Renato's experience across Data & AI projects was redirected toward helping Brazilian bettors. Results are published automatically on X (@finalskoreai), with an audit trail so users never need to rely only on the founder's word.
